Benefits

We think the ActiveSite has many benefits but we would!  If you'd like to talk to us or with some of our existing users please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Spread the workload of keeping your website up to date
Keeping a large website up to date is a challenge. ActiveSite allows any member of staff to author and maintain content, whilst giving senior staff editorial control before anything is made live. Adding new navigation areas, newsletters, users etc. is all in your control.
  • Channels provide a sense of ownership
Large sites like the BBC have been very successful with their online presence by splitting their content into "channels". ActiveSite uses a similar concept so that within you have one site you can create any number of channels each with its own homepage, design, users and content focus. This encourages a sense of ownership with content authors and makes finding information much easier for your visitors.
  • No web coding skills necessary
Some of our large ActiveSites have hundreds of staff that can add content - many would not claim to be web design experts. If you can use Microsoft Word you will be able to put content onto an ActiveSite channel.
  • Public and secure private content areas
Websites are great for providing information to the general public but sometimes you need areas that only certain users can access. ActiveSite handles this with ease. When you add content you can make it public or restrict it to groups of users. This means ActiveSite can be your website, safe extranet and secure intranet all at once.
  • Promote regular, repeat visits
Keeping your site up to date is a great way to ensure visitors return. ActiveSite allows your users to indicate areas of interest which trigger automatic weekly emails with links to everything new that has been added.
